Child Spirits

I wonder what they all like. Funny, naughty, cheeky, placid, quiet, artistic? Sometimes I truly feel like I can sense or even just tell what a little child's personality or spirit is like by the way the waves form around their name. I absolutely believe each child plays a part in having their name written in the sand. I am sorry if that upsets anyone who believes that their is no life after death. I have just seen too many magical things happen in my short lifetime to ever believe that their is no life after death :)

So the other night I was drawing at the beach. I wanted to draw a fairy butterfly for Emma. I am not kidding you, I drew this butterfly about 14 times before I could get the photograph of it for Emma's mother. Each time I started drawing, something would happen to prevent me from drawing it. The waves came in, a seabird ran through the butterfly, a bee started hovering around me, a dog came over and ran his paw prints right next her butterfly. You name it, it probably happened. So I decided that I would leave Emma's butterfly and start drawing my pure spirit butterfly for her brother Chase. It took only the one drawing and the one photograph to capture Chase's butterfly. There were no waves, no bees, nothing, just stillness.

So I went back to start drawing Emma's butterfly. This time when I tried to draw it all of these seashells revealed themselves that had been hiding underneath the surface of the sand. It sounds beautiful, and actually they were pretty little shells, but boy did they make a mess of her butterfly! So I was like "Now Miss Emma, you are quite cheeky aren't you?!" "So gorgeous girl, I really want to give this photo to your Mama to make her smile so do you think you could help me draw this butterfly for her? I will even write your name on it?" After I said this, the sea calmed down, the birds, bee and dog were no where to be seen and I was able to draw Emma's Fairy butterfly and take a photograph of it for her beautiful mother.

I wonder if Chase is a quiet young man. A peaceful spirit maybe. I believe Emma is quite the little party girl with a spirit full of adventure.

If you have ever been waiting to have your childs name written by me at the beach and it has been sitting at the top of my wait list for some time it is simply that I have had a interesting time at the beach trying to capture your their name in a photograph :)

Hey darl, remember that lady that came up to us at Hillarys boat harbour that time and she told you that you had many child like spirits following you? I will never forget that. You face lit up like nothing I have ever seen before. You are amazing and I can only imagine how much these little babies and kids would love you for what you do for their brokenhearted families. We must catch up soon lovely x Bec x

Absolutely beautiful Carly. This post made me smile :))))

I love little things like this that remind us of that other world. Incredible!!! I so love that Emma's personality came out through the waves and all the bustle in trying to draw her butterfly, and how Chase's did too in different ways.

Thank you for sharing this lovely friend. I needed this.

wow....that is really interesting and fills me with such HOPE...truly it does, it made me smile b/c it made me remember that my girls are ALIVE right at this moment and sometimes in the midst of everyday life it is hard to see past the canyons here they have left behind...their deaths seem so looming...but they are ALIVE and I am so grateful for this beautiful and poignant reminder, thank you! xxx Hope

This makes me smile. I had noticed that my baby's name had sat at the top of the list for a while when her name was on the rainbow list. I like to think that my Poppy was being "cheeky" with you!

I have four other angels and you have written their names for me. Their pictures are absolutely stunning but I have always loved the purple sunsets. After I lost my Poppy, I realized that the names that you were currently writing were of purple sunsets. I hurried and submitted her name and then it sat at the top of the list for a little while. I was anxious to see her name with the purple sunset and when her name came off the list I was so excited. She gave me a beautiful orangy pinkish sunset! Yes, I think that I have a cheeky one indead!

Thank you so much for all that you do. I proudly show off my pictures all the time. I love how all four of mine are different. It is truly like each one of my babies personality shows through in their name!

Oh Carly, this is so beautiful!!! You are such an incredible person and I am thrilled you got to see my babes personalities come through. I read this post aloud to my husband and could not believe it. We always said that Chase would be soft spoken and quiet as he was always rolling around inside my womb and very gentle. He was also the quiet one when born. Emma on the other hand would always be awake and kicking like crazy and that is how she came into this world. I cannot even describe what goosebumps I got reading about your experience and how much it has touched me. I shed a few tears followed by such a big smile. My babes found you and visited for a bit. What a sweet thought that is.

I wonder all the time what they are like and the way you captured their spirits is always what I have thought. I never really thought about life after death before Emma and Chase and now I have to believe there is something. Somedays it is the only thought that brings me any peace.

You are such a beautiful person!

I love you! xoxo

It brings tears to my eyes to know how much love and care you take to do each one as it should be done honoring the personality of each child. And such a good reminder that our children aren't dead, they are spiritually alive:)
