It is so important.

Did you know that December is my favourite month of the year? Why?

Well. it is magical to me. There is something different in the air to all the other months. There is more general kindness shown between human beings. Whether you believe that Jesus was the son of God or not you have to admit that Jesus' teachings were pretty amazing. That is what Christmas is. The celebration of the birth of this incredible human being.

The true meaning of Christmas I believe is often overshadowed with stress. In my book, stress is not cool. So I have made an effort this year to do something that I should really do more of and that is nothing. Each evening, usually quite late, I light Christian's candles, sit on my couch and put my feet up. I listen to my favourite Christmas CD, Noel by Josh Groban. My mind calms down and I feel at peace. I feel that having this quiet time at the very end of each day has made this Christmas a truly beautiful and healing one for me.

I believe it is so important to take time out of your day especially at this time of the year to just sit, reflect and to just be.

Wishing you a peaceful week in the lead up to Christmas Day.

Such a simple, yet important, message. This was the theme of my church's Christmas play this past Sunday. How easy it is to rush through this season full of stress and hurrying. This year I am focusing on my family and the blessings in my life.

Your tree is absolutely gorgeous.

December really is magical ~ I've often wished this feeling could be carried the whole year round, but then maybe that's why it's so special, because it only comes but once a year. :)

Love listening to Josh Groban too, and taking time for yourself is not only a gift to yourself but also your loved ones, as they are the recipients of the peace that you've created. :)

i will be taking a leaf out of your book carls. ive been looking for an alternative way to chill out in the evening. up until a few days ago i'd been having a couple of drinks every night just to cope with the demands of my little family, but my doc said im showing signs of post natal depression and i had to stop drinking. i think doing something like this for myself will (hopefully) have an even better effect than a couple of drinks.
thanks babe :)

I think we could all take a little me time like that more often. Life can be so stressful, esp around the holidays like Christmas.
