Amethyst

When I was a little girl I used to collect rocks and semi precious stones. My absolute favourite crystal was Amethyst. I remember lying out in our back garden holding my Amethyst stone up to the sun. I marveled at the colour that would shine through the stone and all the cracks inside it. I couldn't believe the earth could naturally create such pieces of magic.

Last night while I was at the beach I watched the sun reflect through the crashing waves. It reminded me of the times I would look at the sun through my Amethyst crystals. I drew this butterfly with the sweetest of childhood memories in my heart. She is now in my collection at my Butterfly Gallery.

I have named her Amethyst.

Today I am giving away 3 Amethyst Butterfly Tributes. If you would like to enter this giveaway please leave your choice of name/s for the butterfly in a comment below. To all my sweet friends on facebook who usually enter on my page, due to regulations on facebook I am no longer able to hold giveaways on there. I only read the rules late last night! Apparently whole businesses that conduct giveaways on facebook are having their pages deleted so that was a good enough reason to change my giveaways to my blog!

You can enter your name into the name/url option in the comment section. If you choose to post as anonymous please remember to leave your name as well as your childrens :)

Good luck everyone :)

Much love and many blessings,

It's so sweet of you to do these! I've always loved Amethyst too, it's my birthstone and also Jacob's. My daughter brought home a whole bag full of unpolished amethyst stones for me a couple summers ago when she went to visit an abandoned mine. After reading the above, I'll have to try holding one up to the sun! I'd like to enter my son Jacob's name. Thank you so much :)

When the opportunity came up I had to leave as I was too emotional. Joseph would have been 3 months old that day. So here's my thankyou. What you do is also so Heartfelt.
If I win could you please do a butterfly for my Joseph Gabriel.
Love and light to you. From Kate.

Hi the butterfly is beautiful!

My daughters name is Hannah. We lost her this January. She was 36 weeks and was born stillborn. Her twin sister survived. It has been a had 10 weeks. It is amazing how such a little person who didn't even get a chance to live can change your whole world. I miss her so much. A friend of mine actually told me of your site and your story. I love what you do for people. The sunsets are so pretty. And I know that Hannah is seeing even more beautiful things in Heaven. Thank you, Jenny

I love your work, I would like to enter your competition and name one of your butterflies Harrison. I want to name your butterfly Harrison as like you with your stones, I look at his picture and I marvel at how beautiful he was and how perfect. Even though I am devastated about losing him, I also look at him with absolute love, and how every facet of my life has been changed, just like looking at the rays of light in your stones, that is how I see my son changing my life and the lives of people around him.
Thanks so much.

With all these beautiful children listed before me, I don't envy you having to choose. I, too, had a rock collection growing up which I still have. I kept it in a jewelry box on my bureau. Rocks from the beach, hikes or souvenir shops, they all held so much value. I have a few from my father as well. He would bring one home for me. So special. My daughter's name is Eva, Eva Margaret in full. Many blessing to you and your family.

What an amazing photo and a beautiful story. My husband and I are both February / Amethyst babies and purple has always been my favourite colour.... or should I say obsession. As we approach our Son ~Noah's~ 4th birthday I have been spending lots of time on your site, ocean sunsets are one of my favourite things in the world.

This year on April 11th we will be spending our son's 4th birthday in Perth (we live in Sydney)and plan to come down to the beach at sunset. I will be sure to say hi if I see you. This will be the first time we have been away from home on ~Noah's~ birthday, the first birthday since our son was born last November, and the first birthday since my Dad died in January. I am really looking forward to a special evening down at your beach.

I hope you don't mind me posting this here, I wasn't sure how to contact you privately.

Thank you for everything you do. You have touched so many lives xx
